Day 10 saw Andy and Josh tackle a respectable 13 miles from Brompton-on-Swale to Danby Wiske. The miles are definitely starting to add up now.

In a move that can only be described as either courageous or completely lacking in self-preservation, Josh decided today was the perfect day to wear a bright red top. Given the recent bovine-related detour, some might question the timing. Andy reportedly spent part of the day keeping one eye on the path and the other on the nearest escape route, just in case Josh’s fashion choices attracted unwanted attention from any local livestock.

Thankfully, the weather was kind to them once again. No rain, no drama, just plenty of sunshine helping them top up their tans. At this rate they’ll finish the walk looking less like campers and more like they’ve returned from a package holiday. The flat terrain also gave their legs a bit of a break after several days of pounding hills and trails. It wasn’t exactly effortless, but there were significantly fewer complaints directed at Mother Nature.

The camping adventure continues, with another night under canvas. By now they’re seasoned professionals at pitching tents, finding creative ways to avoid washing properly, and convincing themselves that sleeping on what feels like a bag of rocks is “all part of the experience.”

With just five days left to walk, the finish line is starting to feel real. Spirits remain high, legs remain mostly functional, and remarkably neither of them has suggested calling a taxi. The countdown is on!
