Day 7 of Andy and Josh’s Coast to Coast adventure saw them make the journey from Kirkby Stephen to Keld, taking on one of the tougher stretches of the route. The day started with a gruelling 5-mile climb, testing both legs and determination, before giving way to an 8-mile descent. While the downhill section offered some relief from the climbing, the soggy underfoot conditions meant every step still required plenty of concentration.

After several days of battling mixed weather, there was finally a welcome improvement in the conditions. With the sun making an appearance and temperatures feeling much more pleasant, the shorts were back out and morale was high as they pushed through another big day on the trail. The improved weather made for a much more enjoyable walk across the stunning Yorkshire Dales landscape.

Today’s stage also marks a major milestone in the journey — Andy and Josh have officially reached the halfway point of their Coast to Coast walk. After seven days of challenging terrain, changing weather, and countless miles under their boots, they’re now halfway across the country. It’s a great achievement and a perfect moment to reflect on how far they’ve come, while keeping their sights firmly set on the miles still to come.

With the day’s walking complete, camp is now set up, the boots are off, and it’s time to relax. A few well-earned snacks are on the menu as they recover from another demanding day on the trail. Halfway down, halfway to go — and the adventure continues tomorrow.

Seven days down! Eight to go!
